A great half or full day trip outside of town!
Take the Iron Ore Heritage Trail to Lakenen Land and experience the unique free to visit park with over 100 scrap metal sculptures made by a local welder. Explore the park and each lunch in their picnic area then hit a Lake Superior beach on your way back into town!
Iron Ore Heritage Trail
The Iron Ore Heritage Trail is a 47-mile bike-path that runs from Chocolay Township, through Marquette, Negaunee, and Ishpeming, all the way to Republic.
Take a trip from Marquette up to Negaunee or Ishpeming where you can shop and eat in their historic downtowns or take a dip in the lake that borders each town (Teal Lake) and enjoy a pasty with some ice cream from Iron Town Pasties.
Check out their website for maps and more information at IronOreHeritage.com
